After you have searched for an import car and calculated the costs with the Import Calculator, you can start importing your car. Simply send us the car import order confirmation, which you will find on the last page of the import calculation, signed electronically via the online order form.
In addition to the order confirmation, depending on the desired import services, we also need further documents to carry out the auto import for you. After the import experts have checked your documents, we will of course contact you personally to discuss the final steps and open questions with you. Importing a car can be that easy.
If we create for you the documents for the car import customs clearance, we need your order confirmation, a copy of the purchase contract, the EC declaration of conformity (COC), if necessary foreign registration and if necessary a certificate of origin or EUR.1.
You can obtain the EC declaration of conformity and the foreign registration from your car dealer.
However, a certificate of origin or the EUR.1 is hardly issued by the car manufacturer any more. However, ask your car dealer for the documents to be on the safe side.
Without a EUR.1 or certificate of origin, a weight duty is also payable at the Swiss border. The taxes amount to CHF 15 per 100 kg of vehicle’s own weight.
If we are allowed to organize the complete car import into Switzerland for you, we only need the order confirmation and a copy of the purchase contract.
Our import services also include correspondence with your car dealer to collect and prepare all documents for the car import.
If we transport your car from abroad to Switzerland, we also carry out Swiss import customs clearance. For customs clearance we require the order confirmation, copy of the purchase contract, EC declaration of conformity (CoC) and, if applicable, a copy of the foreign approval.
The EC declaration of conformity and the foreign approval are usually handed out by your seller.
If we can handle the complete car import for you, it usually takes 3-4 weeks until registration in Switzerland.
If we carry out the complete car import for you, we need a purchase contract to contact your dealer. Most sellers are only willing to coordinate the import process with us after payment.
An auto import consists of many steps that can trigger a time delay. The vehicle documents are not yet available to the car seller, dense road traffic, long and complicated customs clearance, an MFK date is not immediately available, a certificate of insurance is missing or simply a holiday delays the car import. The Import-Butler is anxious to inform you about the most important dates at any time.
